The University Area Community Council (UACC) meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 7 PM at University Baptist Church 4313 Wright Street Anchorage, Alaska (corner of Tudor Road and Wright Street and across the street from the Sutton Greenhouse).
This Community Council has not finished prioritizing projects, currently NOT shown in order of priority

Status: Feb 28 2017 - No work is underway or scheduled. This project is included in the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) and is a state owned facility. Prioritization and funding would be through the State of Alaska.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - No work is underway or scheduled in the six-year Capital Improvement Program. This is a state-owned facility and evaluation and funding would be by the State of Alaska. The route is designated as a major arterial in the Official Streets and Highways Plan (OS&HP). This project is included in the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).
Status: Feb 28 2017 - No work is currently scheduled in the 6-year Capital Improvement Program. This is a state owned facility and evaluation and funding would be by the State of Alaska.

Parks & Recreation

Status: Feb 28 2017 - The department has recently completed transitions to LED technology at Beach Lake, a small segment at Russian Jack and the Speed skating Oval at Cuddy Family Midtown Park. We are currently in design and engineering to convert all of the ski trail lighting at Kincaid and Far North as well as the exiting lighting on Chester Creek and Campbell Creek. Completing this missing link is the next logical step.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Planning for the University Lake Park Master Plan was completed this year.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The department just completed a small, fenced dog park at Arctic Benson Park. Another project is underway to formalize a fenced off-leash area at Valley of the Moon Park.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The North Westchester Lagoon Bridge was replaced in 2015 with the Sisson and Fish Creek Bridge being replaced this year. The (2) remaining bridges to be replace are the South Westchester Lagoon Bridge and the 2nd Avenue Bridge.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The FNBP Trail Improvement Plan was adopted by the Parks & Recreation Commission and the Urban Design Commission. The Improvement Plan identifies a list of projects supported by all trail user groups.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The department currently manages community gardens at The Gardens @ Bragaw, C Street Gardens, Fairview Lyons and McPhee Gardens
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Park planning staff is currently working with the local community to identify a vision for the park.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Recent and ongoing bank armoring has provided protection for a 5- 10 year period.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Park Maintenance and horticulture crews have cleared parks and trails making current park assets safe for Anchorage citizens.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Anchorage has over 250 miles of tails and improved wayfinding will address safety and navigation concerns.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The parking lot at Jodphur has become significantly more popular with the new single track trails that provide summer mountain biking and new winter access to Kincaid Park for non skiers.
