Taku/ Campbell

Taku-Campbell CC meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month, 7 PM, at the Dimond Center Hotel. There are usually no meetings in June, July or August although meetings can be held if a significant community issue develops.
This Community Council has not finished prioritizing projects, currently NOT shown in order of priority

A list of proposed projects or needs that will be prioritized by the public through their community council. Here you will see them separated into three categories PM&E, State and Parks & Rec.

Project Management and Engineering

Status: Feb 28 2017 - This project has not started. State grant funding is proposed.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - No work is currently scheduled in the 6-year Capital Improvement Program. The project will remain on the Capital Project Needs List for future funding consideration.

State of Alaska

Status: Feb 28 2017 - No work is underway or scheduled in the six-year Capital Improvement Program. This is a state-owned facility and evaluation and funding would be by the State of Alaska.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Design is funded and underway by the State of Alaska. The State project has three main components: a) An underpass at 92nd Ave, b) upgrading 92nd Ave (Abbott Rd) west to the Old Seward Hwy, and c) upgrading 92nd Ave (Academy St) east to Vanguard Dr. The western section will be completed in 2017.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - No work is currently scheduled in the 6-year Capital Improvement Program. This is a state owned facility and evaluation and funding would be by the State of Alaska.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - This is a state-owned facility. Evaluation and prioritization will be done by the State DOT. Central Region DOT has included this project on a prioritized list of rut repair projects. State grant funding is proposed.

This is a state-owned facility and evaluation and future funding would be by the State of Alaska. The route is identified as a freeway in the Official Streets and Highways Plan. The project is also included in the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). A state grant for the underpass was provided by the Legislature but additional funding is now required to complete construction.

Parks & Recreation

Status: Feb 28 2017 - Park Maintenance performs monthly safety inspections and repairs the park assets as necessary. A Master Plan effort is currently underway with design development and implementation starting in 2018.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Park Maintenance and horticulture crews have cleared parks and trails making current park assets safe for Anchorage citizens.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - This area is a popular area off of the Campbell Creek Trail to access the creek.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The department just completed a small, fenced dog park at Arctic Benson Park. Another project is underway to formalize a fenced off-leash area at Valley of the Moon Park.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The parking lot at Jodphur has become significantly more popular with the new single track trails that provide summer mountain biking and new winter access to Kincaid Park for non skiers.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Anchorage has over 250 miles of tails and improved wayfinding will address safety and navigation concerns.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Recent and ongoing bank armoring has provided protection for a 5- 10 year period.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The department currently manages community gardens at The Gardens @ Bragaw, C Street Gardens, Fairview Lyons and McPhee Gardens
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The North Westchester Lagoon Bridge was replaced in 2015 with the Sisson and Fish Creek Bridge being replaced this year. The (2) remaining bridges to be replace are the South Westchester Lagoon Bridge and the 2nd Avenue Bridge.
