A list of proposed projects or needs that will be prioritized by the public through their community council. Here you will see them separated into three categories PM&E, State and Parks & Rec.

Status: Feb 28 2017 - The project has not started. State grant funding is proposed.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - This project has been added to the Traffic Calming needs list for future funding consideration through the Traffic Calming program.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - No work is underway or scheduled in the six-year Capital Improvement Program. The project will remain on the Capital Project Needs List for future funding consideration. The route is designated as a collector in the Official Streets and Highways Plan (OS&HP).
Status: Feb 28 2017 - 95% plans are being completed. Property acquisition negotiations underway. Construction schedule subject to funding. Muldoon intersection work will be completed with this project.

Status: Feb 28 2017 - No work is underway or scheduled. This project is included in the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) and is a state owned facility. Prioritization and funding would be through the State of Alaska.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - No work is currently scheduled in the 6-year Capital Improvement Program. The project will remain on the Capital Project Needs List for evaluation and prioritization and also forwarded for funding consideration through the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP).

Status: Feb 28 2017 - Currently the department is completing a campground improvement project that includes the installation of Wi-Fi, electrical hook-ups to more campsites, and landscape improvements for basic aesthetic and safety improvements and also to accommodate larger RVs. Existing funds will be used to design the new restroom facilities and new funding will be used for construction.

Status: Feb 28 2017 - Park Maintenance performs monthly safety inspections and repairs the park assets as necessary. In 2008, NE residents completed a neighborhood park report card and in 2009, community volunteers completed a neighborhood park fix-it.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Park Maintenance and horticulture crews have cleared parks and trails making current park assets safe for Anchorage citizens.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Anchorage has over 250 miles of tails and improved wayfinding will address safety and navigation concerns.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Recent and ongoing bank armoring has provided protection for a 5- 10 year period.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The department currently manages community gardens at The Gardens @ Bragaw, C Street Gardens, Fairview Lyons and McPhee Gardens
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The North Westchester Lagoon Bridge was replaced in 2015 with the Sisson and Fish Creek Bridge being replaced this year. The (2) remaining bridges to be replace are the South Westchester Lagoon Bridge and the 2nd Avenue Bridge.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Park Maintenance performs monthly safety inspections and repairs the park assets as necessary.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The department just completed a small, fenced dog park at Arctic Benson Park. Another project is underway to formalize a fenced off-leash area at Valley of the Moon Park.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The parking lot at Jodphur has become significantly more popular with the new single track trails that provide summer mountain biking and new winter access to Kincaid Park for non skiers.
