Hillside Community Council (a merger of Mid-Hillside Community Council and Hillside East Community Council) meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month, 7 p.m., at the library of the O'Malley Elementary School. Next scheduled meeting is 9/ Contact Lance Powell,Pres.,HCC, at 907-346-2327 or lwpowell1@juno.com for Special Meetings requests.

Status: Feb 28 2017 - Funding is proposed as a funding partnership of state grants and local road bonds.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - No work is currently scheduled in the 6-year Capital Improvement Program. This project will remain on the Capital Project Needs List for future funding consideration. The road is identified as a collector in the Official Streets and Highways Plan.

State of Alaska

Status: Feb 28 2017 - Environmental and design work was completed by the State of Alaska. However, the project is being re-evaluated in light of public comment and future funding is uncertain. This is a state owned facility.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - This is a state owned facility and prioritization and funding would be through the State of Alaska.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - No work is underway. This trail has been added to the Capital Project Needs List for evaluation and future funding consideration. Both Abbott Road and Hillside Drive are state owned facilities and funding would be from state or federal sources.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Design efforts by the State of Alaska for an upgrade to O'Malley Road have been funded and trail construction is anticipated as part of that project. This is a state-owned facility and evaluation and funding would be by the State of Alaska.

Status: Feb 28 2017 - Park Maintenance and horticulture crews have cleared parks and trails making current park assets safe for Anchorage citizens.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The FNBP Trail Improvement Plan was adopted by the Parks & Recreation Commission and the Urban Design Commission. The Improvement Plan identifies a list of projects supported by all trail user groups.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The department just completed a small, fenced dog park at Arctic Benson Park. Another project is underway to formalize a fenced off-leash area at Valley of the Moon Park.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Anchorage has over 250 miles of tails and improved wayfinding will address safety and navigation concerns.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The department currently manages community gardens at The Gardens @ Bragaw, C Street Gardens, Fairview Lyons and McPhee Gardens
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Recent and ongoing bank armoring has provided protection for a 5- 10 year period.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - Section 36 uplands are in the process of being transferred to P&R management and will be formally dedicated. Additionally, we anticipate the master plan to be adopted by the Planning and Zoning Commission this year.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The parking lot at Jodphur has become significantly more popular with the new single track trails that provide summer mountain biking and new winter access to Kincaid Park for non skiers.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The Parks & Recreation Department in partnership with the Anchorage Park Foundation and a group of little league volunteers recently completed accessibility and parking improvements at the ballfield complex.
Status: Feb 28 2017 - The North Westchester Lagoon Bridge was replaced in 2015 with the Sisson and Fish Creek Bridge being replaced this year. The (2) remaining bridges to be replace are the South Westchester Lagoon Bridge and the 2nd Avenue Bridge.
